Intellectual Disability – Empowering Minds, Enabling Growth
Intellectual Disability (ID) — earlier referred to as mental retardation — is a developmental condition characterized by limitations in intellectual functioning
and adaptive behavior. It affects learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and everyday social or practical skills.
This condition usually appears before the age of 18 and can range from mild to severe. With early intervention, education, and therapy, individuals with intellectual disabilities can learn important life skills, become more independent, and lead fulfilling lives.
